06 / KOICA Sustainable Factory Project · Nakasongola, Uganda Pressed Fresh Directly in Uganda

The Freshest Butter Ever:
Cold-Pressed Directly in Uganda.

Established under the KOICA Sustainable Factory Project in Nakasongola. Unlike conventional brokers who ship raw nuts offshore to sit in warehouses for months before pressing, we cold-press fresh nuts directly at our first-of-its-kind facility in origin.

Shipped Offshore & Re-Exported

Raw nuts spend months traversing oceans to offshore facilities, sit in humid coastal warehouses suffering rancidity and mold.

01
Africa Port Holding & Consolidation
Weeks of delay in unventilated coastal holding sheds awaiting bulk ships.
02
1st Voyage: 45+ Days to Offshore Ports
High humidity & tropical container heat trigger nut mold & lipid hydrolysis.
03
3-6 Months Storage & Chemical Refining
Nuts oxidize in storage. Forced high-heat bleaching & hexane extraction.
04
2nd Voyage: Re-Exported Across Ocean
Repacked overseas and shipped across the ocean a second time.

High Olein, Instant Skin Melt (33°C)

"Unlike the brittle, waxy texture of West African shea butter, Uganda Nilotica possesses an exceptional 55-62% liquid oleic acid fraction. It melts effortlessly upon contact with body heat at 33°C, leaving no sticky residue or crystallization grains. Ideal for premium clean cosmetics."
Liquid Olein (Omega-9) 55.0% – 62.0%
Melting Point (Skin Absorption) 32°C – 34°C (Instant Melt)

High Stearic, Hard Block (38-42°C)

"Paradoxa shea contains predominantly solid stearic acid, giving it a high melting point (38-42°C), a hard block consistency, and a strong smoky odor that typically requires aggressive chemical deodorization and heat fractionation before cosmetic use."
Liquid Olein (Omega-9) 37.0% – 42.0% (Low)
Melting Point (Skin Absorption) 38°C – 42°C (Solid Wax)
Texture & Afterfeel Brittle Block, Grainy Crystal
Hard Block Consistency Needs Chemical Refining

02 / Processing Infrastructure Uganda's 1st Shea Extraction Plant

Nakasongola Plant: KOICA Sustainable Factory Project

Proudly established as Uganda's very first dedicated shea butter extraction facility through the KOICA (Korea International Cooperation Agency) investment initiative in Nakasongola. We cold-press fresh shea nuts directly in Uganda at temperatures strictly below 45°C.

Nakasongola Raw Seed Warehouse
01 / Raw Sorting
Nakasongola Plant Storage

Fresh sun-dried kernels received directly from northern cooperatives into Nakasongola facility.

KOICA Cold Press Machinery
02 / Expeller Line
Mechanical Cold Press (< 45°C)

Continuous hydraulic screw pressing maintaining strict operating temperature without hexane solvents.

Micro-filtration & Drum Barreling
03 / Pure Barreling
Dual 5-Micron Filtration

Filtering micro-sediments and sealing in nitrogen-purged 25kg pails & 190kg steel drums.

Step 01

De-Hulling & Optical Sorting

Sun-dried nuts are mechanically de-hulled. Kernels pass through optical sorting to eliminate defective or moldy seeds.

Step 02

Low-Temperature Milling (< 40°C)

Pulverized under strict thermal monitoring below 40°C to prevent degradation of natural tocopherols (Vitamin E).

Step 03

Hydraulic Expeller Pressing

Pure mechanical screw pressing directly in Uganda without any petroleum solvents (hexane-free).

Step 04

Dual Micro-Filtration

Passed through 5-micron filter cloths to remove sediments, then sealed immediately in nitrogen-flushed pails.

03 / Origin Raw Material Distribution

Direct Farm-Gate Procurement in Northern Uganda

Direct partnerships with women's wild-harvesting cooperatives in Otuke, Lira, and Gulu. We own the raw material supply chain from tree to drum.

100+ Years
Ancient Wild Parkland

Harvested exclusively from naturally fallen wild nuts under mature 100+ year-old trees without deforestation.

Solar Parabolic
Raised-Bed Drying

Kernels dried on raised mesh beds to prevent ground dirt contamination, suppress aflatoxins, and eliminate smoke odor.

Zero Middlemen
Women Cooperative Direct

Direct procurement guaranteeing fair living wages to northern communities and total traceability of every single batch.
